Last day, Porthtowen to Godrevy. More fog and not much to see, couple of nice up and down bits but mostly flat miles.
Overall a disappointing section compared to the Bude/Heartland area but noticeably quieter south of Newquay, with nicer coves and villages.

Don’t forget that the Albanian mafia have infiltrated the Police / Government there, so under the surface its not quite so nice.

The Netherlands is approaching a Narco state. Coming to a City near you soon (hopefully not).

Far less than other countries, I suspect London is just as involved. Rotterdam as an import hub, Amsterdam for distribution it seems. Also, the Netherlands ended visa free travel for Albanians, I suspect the infiltration in the Government is more right wing bollocks from certain Dutch wankers.

Some of those Down-Up sections! Aaargh.
Fair play. I’m not sure my knees would take it, not for a week anyhow.

Our short camping weekend away on the Roseland peninsula was fun & included a nice walk.

This side of Cornwall is something of a contrast to the wilder & more barren Atlantic coast. The peninsula is lush rolling countryside punctuated by deep green tidal estuaries.

We set out from Porth down to the beach at Towan. Mid August so understandably busy.

the coast path led us down past Porthbeor beach although it was difficult to see how you’d scramble down to that one.

To the end & St Anthony head with its early 19C lighthouse.

Fortunately we had a spare carrier bag with us as Sloe berries were plentiful.

Continuing round the headland we came to Great Molunan beach which was easily accessible & ideal for swimming.

We followed the estuary in, past St Mawes on the opposite side & up to the stately pile Place House and its attached church, St Anthony’s.

The parched lawn had once been a tidal pool with a mill driven by the released water.

Once we got back to Porth, we drove a mile or two upstream to Percuil where a sailing regatta was taking place (in the distance) & cream teas were being dispensed.

Sunday morning before we left, we went to look at the amazing sub-tropical churchyard at St Just in Roseland. This, allegedly, was where Joseph of Arimathea brought a young Jesus to Britain the source of the William Blake words, “And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon Englands mountains green” Unfortunately there was no one about to ask about this! Nice place though, well worth a look.

Porthscatho itself was pretty although getting a bit gentrified/Salcombeised now.

Just finished a cruise. A bit worse for wear after the all inclusive drinks package :face_with_spiral_eyes:.

Ground is still moving.

Fair play to you. A cruise is my vision of Hell

Sort of was mine before we tried a short one years ago. But in this case it was a way to spend some time with my parents and get Dad away from work so it was great.

Understand. If I’d done that with my dad we would have come back with one less passenger

How’s the water?

The water is pleasant. Nice and warm in September.

It’s a nice place for a few days of sun.

Not full of brown logs & tampons then? We’re blessed in this country & pay through the nose for such luxuries.
