A black mamba scuttled out in front of us today. Heat after a lot of rain.

Thankfully it vanished after a bit of a stare…

Lots of baby impala, monkeys, and even warthogs.

These pusscats are both scary amd beautiful!

They were at it hammer and tong for at least 15 seconds. Slightly embarrassing that it’s all on video.

They are wild, but clearly very ok with us around as they are well stocked with food options on the reserve, and managed to a degree. Fascinating to get close.

The land owners have a quarantine pen for buffalo (TB and F&M issues), but their initial cost makes them a dilemma to add to the park as it’s expensive lion food.

Several eagle varieties and rare birds today. Incredible things when they take off in front of you.

That’s the leopard that was a chance sighting that lead to a bit of a rush to get to the area. Trackers had been looking for a week (it’s not subject to and locating devices) and managed to get is a walk by.

The elephants were incredible. Destroying trees and ripping bark off as they rolled through a dense bush area. The main bull was beyond massive.

It is stinking hot today and a snake appeared between our sun loungers looking at me from 30cm away. Eye to eye. It moved a foot and was attacked by a bird in front of us. We think it’s a spotted bush snake but I have never been so still in my life as it sat there.
