Came in at under a grand. In Dobbin land that’s a result :+1:

Getting on for £200 worth of other tack to buy tomorrow., so there’s the grand for this weekend.

Oh, and it doesn’t like metal bits, so we have to buy a special plastic one, which costs more and wears out, so you have to keep buying them. And for some reason they’re apple flavoured. :man_shrugging:

As some kind of recompense, FoL#2 Lauren is taking me to see Sale Sharks get battered by Ospreys tomorrow. Well, I say taking me, she bought the tickets discounted, and I get to drive us.

At least she appreciates what you are doing Rob. Great memories being made; worth their weight.

That’s the way we looked at it anyway, as we were being lead, by the reins, to the debtors gaol.

It’s great to see how they’re bonding with Goldie, They can’t wait to start bringing her on,

Drum & bass maestro, no doubt, but

You know those spread sheets and business plan that Claire and the girls put tgether to convince you that ‘Operation Dobbin’ was viable?

How is it holding up? :grinning:

Rob, do they know about Endurance riding? It’s a whole thing. My Mum was really into it; she rode and was also quite high up in the organisation of the Southwest division. I used to go and help at rides quite a bit, manning checkpoints and stuff like that. In the horsey world, you’ve got the hunt people, which I never related to, the eventing and racing people, which is kind of the high-end, and then the endurance people, which is kind of an excuse to visit beautiful places and ride around countryside you wouldn’t usually get access to. My Mum organised the Minions Ride in Cornwall, which was a stunning route on Bodmin moor. Quite probably your daughters are acquainted with it, but thought I’d mention, in case not.

I’m not sure if they do Nick. I’ll show them, it looks right up Laurens street.

To me it really seemed like the cool corner of the horse world. One man/woman on their horse out in the wilderness, kind of thing. Really nice atmosphere at the rides. As a non-rider, I still found it infectious and really came to enjoy helping out. It’s actually really big as well. At the top, people are flying their horses all over the world for rides (Arabs, mainly, I think). It can be both competitive, and just for pleasure, and the two operate in tandem. My Mum went all over the UK to rides, sometimes riding herself and often crewing for a friend.

There’s specialist websites for that sort of thing (so I’m told).
