We haven’t heard from you in a while, all OK Dave @malbec ?
In case Dave is keeping a safe distance from forums and other social media and can’t answer, I spoke with him today and he’s had lots of support from people on here and coping very well in difficult circumstances.
Thanks, all I needed to know
I’m in contact today too. He is keeping his head down but happy to hear from anyone but by text / message first.
edit, only so he can composed.
Like shit. Being persuaded to do another year at work probably hasn’t helped.
I just can’t shake off the we’re all worthless cunts feeling.
Really nice but not surprised to read others who have been struggling have found support here.
Wisdom is the art of not thinking about stuff too much.
As for the year-more-work, no idea if you’re as old as me, but if you are, 1 Oldgit Year = ~2.74 Youngkid Seconds - it’ll go so fast you won’t have time to learn how “2021” is even spelled…
Good luck everyone - clinging to a ball of rock hurtling through space when you’ve been gifted with an unasked-for mortal sentience whose only available user manual was written by superstitious, schizophrenic goat-herders in the Bronze Age is no easy matter. Be good to yourselves: no other fucker’s gonna do it for you…
Fucking lol.
Cheery fucker as ever

I particularly liked the tip about what to do if you have inadvertently wiped a clean patch on your otherwise uniformly stained carpet. It was not to spend the rest of the weekend cleaning the rest of the carpet. Instead you should sit for half an hour with a copy of The Sporting Life and a packet of Benson and Hedges and restore the pale patch by carefully flicking B&H ash over it and working it in with the toe of your loafer, moistened with a little brown ale if necessary.
The recipe for shoulder of lamb helped me seduce the woman I’m still married to, nearly 33 years later (dear lord, it’s next week !). I’m not making that up.

I would vary slightly by saying that people would be better off spending much less time worrying about most stuff, and more time thinking about the important things - wisdom is the knack of knowing which is which.
I dunno.
A few months of lockdown and suddenly everyone is bloody Kung Fu

The art of thinking without thinking.
