No but I went out with (and was engaged to) his 1st cousin Barbara Tarbuck for a few years. She came down to London with me but didn’t really like it down there and went back after a few months.

To be fair I didn’t realise what a tool he was until he started to make an idiot of himself over Brexit and then doubled down by being a complete twunt over furloughing his staff and paying his creditors at the start of lockdown.

There are very few pubs with such large car parks these days. The Rocket is like an advert for the 1970’s lifestyle with the huge carpark right by the motorway.

Google have already sewn that up at the low to mid end. The high and ultra high end resi space is dominated by Crestron and Control4 etc…

There will be plenty of work refitting these buildings as apartments to be fair. Probably enough to see me out.

Same here. I’m working from home and have saved time and money with no travel to work. I don’t even live far from work. Don’t know how people do it with a long commute, fuck that.

Hate my fucking job and trying to get out anyway but this has been a welcome change.

As the lockdown has gone on I’ve found that I’m thinking more and more that my working life has to change. It’s been obvious for ages that the company I work for are crushing all the joy out of what I do. The more they understand the specialism of what I do, the more they seek to control it, to the point where they are trying to change it into something else, more akin to mail order. They will do anything stop me having contact with clients, or at least minimising it.

I’ve always been aware that it isn’t the best fit but have been able to concentrate on my thing and enjoy that. Although the job has been a bit of a basket case, it has out of necessity been possible for me to put everything I have learnt together. There has only ever been me and at most a couple of youngsters in house, so I have had to do everything. A lot of the time I’ve had to be able to cut and make everything a customer has ordered and when it has needed alteration at the end it is me that has had to take it apart and adjust it. There is no one to blame but me and fuck that is good experience! I’m still improving and can see that I can carry on learning indefinitely.

I’ve set up a workshop at home over the last few weeks because locally here covid has yet to peak and I want to cut down my travel into London for obvious reasons. In setting up somewhere to work, I’ve kicked off all sorts of possibilities in my head and although, especially politically, I’m looking on at the situation with horror, along with lots of us on here, with my working life I’m actually starting to feel quite excited about there being change

OK, so today I was made redundant. My contract is six months, so I’m paid until December. I’m furloughed until end Aug, I think.

What an odyssey the last year or so has been. I resigned last April, they paid me what I wanted to stay last July, and then predictably got even more cunty than they were previously, which is saying something! Pre covid, I was really done in, tired, stressed, a bit ill to be honest…

I’m probably in a bit of a better position than I was a year ago and with six months at the cliff top, I have a bit more time to prepare before I throw myself off.
