This was one of the reasons that made me think it may have been worse than was being let on

Me too. Seemed like the emergency choice not the obvious choice, not in keeping with the just a precaution reports.

This

He’ll have capita waiting to certify him fit to work

Agree some unpleasant words there

If he had not used a NHS hospital can you imagine the press tomorrow?
I would have been more surprised if he didn’t go to a NHS hospital

Didn’t think private hospitals really did ICU, the main activities are normally fairly ordinary operations with longer wait times.

Apparently they have had a room prepared since Thursday

I wouldn’t expect him to have gone private, but maybe to The Royal Brompton.

I suspect the last thing they would want is an infectious CV19 patient.

FoL nurse says he is in the ‘red zone’. Nope, not me either. But says it’s no one in unless wearing full PPE. If that is the case then it’s certainly 50/50.
Fuck, this, hopefully, will hit home to a few more mindless minions

Does she work at St Thomas’ Dave?

The 50/50 in the data only takes account of those on a ventilator. While it would be unfortunate if he were taking up an ICU bed with a ventilator, he may only need oxygen at present. The Independent’s live blog is quoting a specialist suggesting he needs ventilation. I presume a single secure room that can cover all bases makes more sense than moving him about.

Having been in ICU for two nights in February I can tell you that everyone in there is fecked. I was the only person capable of speech on the ICU on my first night according to my nurse. I was utterly fucked…

are all ICUs “red zones”? so if you were in an ICU, you would be in a “red zone”?

Before the inevitable media-canonisation and hypocritical foam of virtue-signalling that would follow his demise - in the unlikely event it comes to that - I’m wont to pause to consider that this is a man who cheerfully endorsed allowing “herd immunity” to select who would live and who would die, a man initially quite prepared to take no action at-all to preserve the lives of those for whom he is responsible, a man who throughout his career has always enthusiastically embraced opportunities to remove health and social support from those who need it most and pass it into the control of corporations whose only loyalty is to shareholders, a man who demonstrates an incontinent, visceral venality and amorality that would be remarkable in a Soho opium den, never mind that he’s charged with running the country…

While it is good not to sink to his level, crocodile tears will not be required should it come to the worst.
