How do you feel? (Part 1)

Fucking morons everywhere

Well Donna wifey and I went to three pubs last night in Swanwick, we sat outside, followed the arrows, kept distance used the sanitizer etc. Etc.
It all worked very well until the last pub where the ‘youngsters’ were hanging out, and although this pub had the best signage and organisation of the lot, it was CHAOS, with swarms of bodies everywhere…

We left quickly.

:man_facepalming:

I haven’t been to the pub but I did have to go to Chichester yesterday on the train and to be honest 95% of people were masked up. Same for the London bus I caught to Victoria.

My brother lives in Greenfield Oldham and he has reported the same in terms of pubs. Most are fine but the one favoured by the youngsters less so. He also says the Freehold pubs appear to take it more seriously.

We’ve had the odd pint outside in a beer garden with plenty of space and regulation on numbers and where people walk etc. Neither of us are ready to go into an indoor pub or restaurant yet, and by the looks of the recent increase in infections it might be some time until we do.

We are booked to have lunch at a new outdoor restaurant in the grounds of a former Manor House today. I certainly don’t see myself going to any indoor restaurants and as for Pubs…

Prof Graham Medley was on The Today Show this morning on R4. He was basically arguing that it might be necessary to shut the Pubs etc if we want to properly open the schools next month. he was saying it all comes down to the number of external points of contact a household has. The greater the number of contact points, the higher the risk of bringing in CV-19 into the household. The key quote was:

I think we’re in a situation whereby most people think that opening schools is a priority for the health and wellbeing of children and that when we do that we are going to reconnect lots of households.

And so actually, closing some of the other networks, some of the other activities may well be required to enable us to open schools.

It might come down to a question of which do you trade off against each other and then that’s a matter of prioritising – do we think pubs are more important than schools?

This kind of choice is exactly the kind of situation our bumbling dunce is likely to refuse to take on libertarian grounds.

I really don’t think it’s libertarian grounds and more to do with big business, lobbying grounds.

some of our folks are saying similar. Think we could hold classes in the pub…

I’ve refused to go in any pubs as it’s just not worth the risk.

It’s my mates 50th today so we’ve booked 4 plots at fairthorne campsite and are going paddle boarding on the river this afternoon and then BBQ and a fuck load of beer and juvenile drinking games this evening.

PS 4 kgs of pork went in at midnight for a 12 hour slow smoke at 90c for pulled pork rolls late lunchtime.

You will be popular with the caravaners

fuck em, it’s a site where BBQs and fires are allowed so I’m hoping that there won’t be many of those caravanists there.

There’s 9 of us going so we’ve booked 4x pitches and will have 18m x 18m and they said we can go by the river where it’s more secluded.

Better than a car park?

Schools or Pubs?
Close them both.
No drunken nutters screaming round here at 2.00 in the morning.
To be fair it is normally drunk girls who do most of the schreeching.
No traffic issues and school run parking / dropping off stupidity.

Fuck everyone ftw

Could there, potentially, be a message there, I wonder ?

300 jobs to go at my place

Charities have been hit very hard.
Sad news about the losses - will you be affected?

That is grim news. I hope that your job is safe from any cuts Kevin. It doesn’t bode well for the rest of the economy if the charities are feeling the pinch so heavily.

The thing is it’s not through lack of potential donations or from potential custom it is simply the hindered ability to vend.

Fuck me it’s going to be a rough ride for many

When I see charities struggling and scamming cunts at the top it makes me nuts

If my back eventually gets better, I’m going to do some voluntary work again however small it is, even if it’s sitting down talking bollocks to a lonely person, which is mainly what my life has been based on
