No results yet for me, I guess they forgot about me
They are probably sending the plague cart round later this afternoon for you
As if by magic, an email comes through. Five days.
“World Beating”.
How many people could you have infected in the mean time?
The answer is completely drained but on the mend.
Some of you may have noticed I haven’t posted over the last 12 days.
(What do you mean no? Fuckers!)
Suffering from what I thought was trapped wind or constipation, suddenly I’ve a temp of 39.5 degrees, vomiting like the lass from the Exorcist and shaking that violently I can’t hold the bucket.
Cue a blue lights and sirens trip to sCUNThorpe hospital with suspected appendicitis. The only consolation was seeing the ambulance pull in front of an Audi SUV at a roundabout, yay.
The amazing resources of the NHS then kick into action, 2 CT scans, 3 teams involved, medical, surgical and haematology, allowing them to zero in on an infected gall bladder as the issue.
A course of strong antibiotics has got me on an even keel but they’re still not sure of the cause, stones, bacteriological or even parasitic. I did go to Colombia in January.
Further tests are scheduled as an outpatient, including an MRI scan, but glad to be finally home.
Had two tests for Covid whilst I was in there, not pleasant. Be prepared to gag and have your eyes water.
Lost weight, yep lost fucking weight, and now on protein drinks to help get back the 2.5 kgs.
I’m pretty confident I’ll make a full recovery, just need to rest and take care of myself.
Shit, that sounds bad. Hope all’s well soon.
Fuck that sounds bloody awful. Hope you’re on the mend soon
Cheers guys.
One of those momentary hiccups in life and nowhere near as bad as many others, including on here.
Get well soon and eat more pie
Sounds nasty. Good to hear that you are on the mend though.
I can vouch for the Pie diet. Hope you back up to full fitness soon.
Glad it’s almost sorted for you, it must have been very worrying , not a political statement but the NHS despite its under resources is bloody brilliant. Hope your soon back on your feet and back to normal.
Hope all is well with you soon Steve.
Bloody hell Steve! GWS.
You lost 2.5 kg??? Wtf did they do, amputate both legs?
Thank fuck you were in good hands and on the mend.
The NHS is just full of incredible people.
Mrs.S becoming a tad anxious, she’s seeing a small but significant rise in covid signs and symptoms in the care homes she has responsibility for. The incidences were falling and levelling off prior to the relaxation of lockdown, the timeline is interesting to compare. I don’t think she will remain in post much longer, conflicting government messages and bullshit have destroyed her trust and the distress of seeing her patients (who she does get attached to) struggling health is taking its toll. Not a nice way to probably finish a 40 odd year career that she loves.
That sounds terrible. Hopefully all is now well.
Rest up Steve …hope you get better soon .
