Bloody hell…
Reminded me of this case
I suspect some people in government might have less of a view of other religious festivals given Diwali has been binned.
Shopping. Boots do something like 1/3 of their entire annual sales in the run up to Xmas.
Which, of course, is much more important than saving lives.

An awful lot of non-food retail chains make all their profit in December/ beginning of Jan.
By the end of November that have broke even.
Without Christmas they are fucked. And that is in a normal year, they have already had the first lockdown where although furlough helped with the staff costs, rent, and other costs were still accruing.
I lived in Bradford at the time of the ripper.
A friend lived on the same street and I (from a distance) knew his son. Plus I knew other people personally involved.
WYP’s biggest failing was a lack of what eventually caught him, determined, no stone unturned police work.
They dismissed survivors and got sidetracked by the theatre of The Ripper.
Plus lack of communication between forces. The need for an independent national view led to the Forensic Science Service - but of course that was eventually deemed too expensive.
Feeling a lot better today, most of the flu type stuff seems to be on it’s way out, but I’m still completely exhausted and now my sense of smell and taste have disappeared.
However Claire developed a temperature today, so she’s had to go for a test…
All the best to Claire, Rob.
Cheers Terry. Hopefully, if she has got it, it’ll be similar to mine, which although nasty, seems to be a milder dose.
And had contempt for the victims who they didn’t deem ‘innocent’ but by virtue of their lifestyle were going to be the most vulnerable.
It doesn’t sound great even in it’s milder form but better your way than the… well you know what I mean
Certainly do mate,
I hope she’s ok. Did she ever get contacted by track and trace or the app?
Yeah, they rang her a couple of times, me three times and FoL#1 twice.
Wish her the best from us, Nurse Rob.
Good you’re getting fixed and best wishes to Claire.
All the best for you and the family.
