Interesting Speakers

I want the Yorkshire pudding bass traps

It’s a very “French” choice of artwork for sure.

If they sound as impressive as they look they’ll be quite something

Want these… Badly…

They do a domestic friendly set:

That’s what I said about them at the time! I initially struggled to work out why many other folk (whose opinions I respect) loved these, and I didn’t get on with them. :man_shrugging:

Not that I necessarily had anything better.

That’s a relative term… they’re still pretty huge. Tbh probably not much more so than some of the Wilson Audios… Wonder how they sound in comparison .

You know the huge ease of sound that you get with an outdoor horn PA system? You can achieve that yourself at home. You have no idea how compressed and congested standard box speakers are until you listen to a reasonable horn system.

And with a home system, you get much more detail than the outdoor system, as the drivers are operating at 0.01% of their ability, and there’s less background fuzz.

Where’s the fun in something sensible although that’s the first triple concentric driver I’ve seen.
I nearly spanked a couple of grand on some of their small f101 or f88 speakers. I’ve heard those at, weirdly, a car show, they were playing on a parts stall opposite an articulated lorry with a ‘bass tunnel’ on the back and I still fixated immediately on the sound of the smaller speakers… standing inside the bass tunnel was a laugh though.
The only time I’ve left a club without tinnitus was one running f1 speakers, it wasn’t quiet either.

The Cabasse La Sphere is a four way concentric, I think. Not cheap, mind.

I was thinking about getting a pair of those to sit up in the corners of my kitchen (I think they have an active version, or if not Martin Audio do, and they’re also very good) and a Sonos 5 would probably be a better bet.

It might actually fit in the lounge?

The f101’s I heard were stupefyingly good in an open field with crowds of people and lots of competing music. I suspect in a home they would be all the speaker you ever need…

If I was going to spunk the cost of a good car on speakers, and let’s face it, the amps to drive them, I’d have a custom listening room / office that could accommodate them.

Sounds like you are giving in already.

Not giving up, picking my battles. I slipped new 10inch audax drivers AND a new pre amp past the CFO this month. A PR for 30 large of speakers and amps plus the necessary remodelling of my office would be met with a certain resistance I feel.

Is it only a 3 way?
Not totally convinced
