Disgusting, turning up to collect speakers without having showered first!
Probably a good thing seeing as these are Comton copies by that scoundrel Compton!

Incase you happen to be in the Seoul area

Mr Chung’s place?

Not sure. In an audio cafe group

Should there not be pews and kneelers?

Fascinated by the old bikes in front of the outer speakers.

In a wee pub, any information on these?
Staff and owner no idea. Apparently guy who used to own the place is no longer of this world.

Consonance is (or was) a PRC based brand of rather well-made tube gear through the first decade or so of the 2000s. Not sure if they’re still trading.

Thanks. It’s not often you see valves in a pub. I asked the owner about the speakers and he said I don’t know, let me check, looked at the amp and said consonance :man_shrugging: I said cheers and left it at that.

Had a Consonance Cyber 10 Vslvd amp back in the day, quite nice.

Speakers could be Chario?

Could be, or Usher, but Conosonance did make (or badge-engineer…) woodsided speakers to match their higher-end kit which often featured some rather nice woodwork. Think they were pitching into Unison Research’s market. Some of the Consonance gear was pretty ambitious - they made a few bits that were more in Wavac’s sphere; some of it sounded pretty nice, but the Chinese usually short-change transformer specs limiting what they can achieve.

The fact it’s called vinyl bar and they are streaming suggests to me owners aren’t that invested in the ethos. Shame. About ten stunning young ladies just walked in who don’t seem that bothered it’s a digital source. I may stay for one for the road. Tunes are pretty good as well tbf.

It’s these guys:

Also made a rather funky CD player (think Rabski had one at one point) called the Droplet:

The only loudspeaker they seem to lay claim to is the Solo, which definitely looks different to those ones:

Fwiw Consonance was a brand owned by a Chinese company called Opera who also made these (may even have badged them as Consonance)

I never heard them although I think Icon Audio may have done a bit with them here in the UK.
