Interesting Speakers

I remember those, I heard them with these cyber mono block 211 amps, sounded very nice for the money. Just can’t remember how much they sold for at the time.

Sometimes one sub is enough

Mitsubishi Diatone D160, the largest 60-inch subwoofer ever made in the 1980s. Weighing 800 kg, it can easily shatter windows and generate small earthquakes that can be felt as ground vibrations within a 2 km radius.
At the Koriyama factory, testing was initially conducted in a measuring room, but was interrupted due to ceiling lights falling due to vibrations. The outdoor test appears to have had a negative impact on the neighborhood. At a distance of about 100 meters from the subwoofer, the sound was noticeable, but at greater distances, it was transmitted to the ground as vibration and noise rather than an audible sound. Damage such as vibrations, small earthquakes, and noise from walls and windows occurred within a 2 km radius of the factory.

Just two normal-looking blokes manhandling 800Kg? The Olympic deadlift WR is a mere 500kg…

FWVLIW I suspect it’s a conventional subwoofer photoshopped in to a picture of a couple of removals guys shifting a table. Look at the binding terminals - way more massive than needed.

Definitely a big mofo mind:

I am trying to remember the company that made a bloody huge subwoofer that I saw at Munich a few years ago,
In its cabinet it was taller than me (5’9")
It was a static display, I don’t recall hearing it.

Sometimes you wish the old threads on the Wam were still searchable :slightly_frowning_face:

Don’t know why,but I dislike Macintosh stuff

What are the tannoy looking speakers……Tannoys?

The pic is a not especially good photoshop but the speakers are real.

Two-way D’Appolito system, MLTL, with a custom-developed front-loaded horn specifically designed for these speakers.

All those records and fantastic speakers, but no record deck or amps in sight. Is it just an art installation?
Still a very nice space if it is.
The records and speakers need to be utilised though.

Judging by the speakergeddon, the record playing gubbins will be housed in a remote concrete bunker.

Was going to say Tannoy GRF Memory but could be custom given the large 'stand/plinth they are on.
