With 60% of sound in the midrange I’m guessing I could live with (in) them
I think a goose would be the last image I would use to advertise horns!
An absolute dream come true. Once in a lifetime opportunity. These speakers weren’t supposed to be behind the screen. The other theaters had typical JBL this was a massive surprise.
I’m just standing in awe of what I have discovered. This will go down as one of my greatest finds ever. Altec Lansing Voice Of The Theater been in use for over fifty years between two theaters, recently at cottonwood in Chilliwack BC. It’s an end of an era for cottonwood 4 cinemas, that is closing. I feel honored to be the caretaker of great pieces of history time to breathe new life into these.

What a find!
Wowser !
Have you purchased the whole lot?
Stunning Stu!
Sadly nothing to do with me. Just copied and pasted someone else’s text
Dooh!
But you’d have needed a cinema to put them in..
They look very similar to @Rensselaer Mark’s Altecs.
Should have spotted that you would never have spelt theatre as theater
Fantastic find. Looks like a very grown up version of my cinema speaker haul!
In fact, the JBL subs underneath the Altecs look like the 4645 that I have.
What amplification did this setup use
No idea. Others might have a better idea of what was likely to have been used around the time.
I’d of thought some large ugly industrial looking valve amp
I read that the cinema was opened in 1974 so I’d guess some big transistor amps.
Do you know when they started and stopped production of those speakers?
Just found this so hopefully info is there
