Israel, Hamas, the Middle East

Reading this story I realised they’ve never been seen in the same room…

Absolute cunts, it’s obvious they are trying to scare the UN out of Lebanon so they cannot witness their war crimes.

UN have to say that if they are attacked again the security council will authorise an expanded force and retaliate.

US would likely veto it (with our support)

What a load of bollocks, the tories are absolutely devoted to kissing Israel’s arse

I heard him being intervewed on radio 4 this morning. It sounded genuine.

Why would he make this up now?

Why do politicians write memoirs?

Protip: it’s to do with rewriting history in their favour.

I doubt that it would have made the slightest difference to Israel’s policy even had these two had been sanctioned. It needs something far stronger. Desisting from selling them arms might have helped but even then it needs America to stop & they (despite expressing concerns) won’t, so the slaughter will continue.

Pessimistic there is a workable solution in the foreseeable future. Too much hate, too much religion, too much history, too many bombs, too much hypocrisy and very little genuine will for peace. The will for revenge however is multi generational.

The same was said about Northern Ireland & the Balkans. Even South Africa. It just requires individuals with the will & flexibility to resolve the differences. They just aren’t present in Israel Palestine at the moment.

Yes, this is the root of current pessimism, the will for peace has to be there and it simply isn’t.

There has to be something about ‘a changed situation’ too though. There was a time when Ian Paisley wasn’t displaying any flexibility whatsoever and when Martin McGuinness had a controlling role in a quasi-military organisation which was killing people (it wasn’t the only one of course). Yet when the situation changed they managed to come to terms with one another. It’s very hard right now to see Netanyahu and the powers-that-be in Iran in that light, especially given the much larger toll of death and destruction, and the depths of the hatred. But might some rapprochement be possible ?

Probably when there’s a regime change on both sides.

The cunts really are just sticking up two fingers to the UN now, absolutely no fucks given by the IDF.

Israeli tank fires at watchtower, say UN peacekeepers

We’ve got a statement from the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil). They say that this morning, peacekeepers at a position near Kafer Kela, a village in southern Lebanon, saw an Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) tank firing at their watchtower.

Unifil says that two cameras were destroyed and the tower was damaged in what they call “direct and apparently deliberate fire on a Unifil position”.

Why wouldn’t they? Until the US does something beyond expressing concern (won’t happen) then the IDF can do what it likes where it likes.
