Russia has been instrumental in sowing discord in western countries for years, it’s well documented. Start with the (much redacted but still very telling) Russia Report (below).
The responsibility for all this doesn’t just lie with the thugs who enact it, it lies with Farage and his cronies, the mainstream media who have legitimised Farage & co’s message of racism and hate, weak right wing govenrments who have allowed populism to dictate isolationist policies like Brexit, social media which allows the wholly unimpeded spread of lies and misinformation, and with external agencies (chiefly Russian) sowing lies and misinformation for their own destabilising ends.
The west needs to wake the fuck up to this - it’s not some boggle-eyed conspiracy theory, never was. Thugs like these don’t leave their sofas unless someone is organising and leading them.

Given what happened after the Marc Duggan stuff in Croydon, I doubt it.
Think one of the problems is 400 have already been charged,who knows how many hundreds or even thousands more to come.
