Sorry everyone, I’m going to have to cry off.

We have just got back from a meeting with the surgical team and they have scheduled Claire’s op for Jun 6th. The best we can hope for is that she will be out of hospital within a week and they say it’s really important that she is up-and-about as soon and as much as she can be. Whatever happens (well almost, I suppose - they said there’s a 2% risk she won’t survive the surgery) I will absolutely need to be here.

It’ll be the first one I’ve missed completely. I only managed one night last year. Given all that’s happened since, the reason for that early departure now looks so trivial that it’s invisible to the naked eye.

Keep the money, of course. And have a great time.
