LTNs, 20mph etc. Traffic calming, or the war on motorists

We’ve travelled down to W of Paris today ready for a visit to Versailles tomorrow but blissfully unaware of the requirements for encroaching in the Greater Paris LEZ. The satnav was instructed to avoid toll roads (it didn’t) and we ended up skirting the edge of the city on the peripherique.

The car (2007 petrol) is Euro4 and it would seem the appropriate sticker should’ve been acquired (£4.20) I’ve managed to make a payment online today but I suspect we’ll be hit with a 68E fine for not displaying the correct sticker on the day. Les Cuntz. :unamused:

NB, if you’re driving to France & going anywhere near Paris (unless you’re driving a milkfloat} you’ll need to have purchased the appropriate sticker & be displaying it. It’s not like the UK where if you know you’re vehicle is compliant you don’t need to buy anything.

Discovered that Les Cuntz like next door to moi.
Je suis tres narked right now :rage:

Is supergluing their locks and pouring petrol thru the letterbox an option, or is it a terrace?

Ffs, that’s harsh! Even for you,

Just “harsh”?!

Not “murderously psychotic and deranged”?

Must be losing my touch

PSA - It’s not just Paris, a lot of big cities require them. Ended up doing a mad detour around Rouen last time because of the sticker need. Thankfully Waze and Google Maps seem to be aware of how these zones operate now so it gave appropriate instruction.

What the fuck? This looks very pretty. Lik a weird art school project.

Roads markings aren’t meant to be arty though…

I hope this is readable

and the follow up

As I’ve said above, the “shared space” thing is dumb as hell IMO.

What a fucking moronic idea!

Don’t remember that section of the Highway Code :grimacing:

This made me giggle; especially the quotes from contemporary letters:

How times have changed what with ‘cherished’ number plates and whatnot…
