Thing is, it’s a carefully stage-managed image.
My time working in Oxford coincided with one of his periods of scandal-related unemployment, and I used to see him around town reasonably often. The away-from-the-cameras Johnson is nothing like this bumbling halfwit scarecrow - sharp as a tack, smartly-dressed and tonsured; I even witnessed him doing dad stuff with kids and then-wife; disturbingly-normal - for the product of a public school at least…
Quite possibly, but in this particular instance I feel that he badly misjudged it appearing that disrespectful at a remembrance day ceremony.
Less and less people are finding his schtick funny or matey.

How sad that it’s the usual Tory ‘petty’ sleaze that might bring him down and not the 100,000+ deaths, multi-Bn £ corruption and ruthless austerity.
