Stricken and Fucked, I think that’s their new name.

That place has always been a shit-show. The two tailors Gieves (hard G) and Hawks have an amazing heritage but nobody since I have been in the trade has been able to do anything with it. It’s always needed proper creative direction but has managed to be as naff as fuck, a poor man’s Dunhill .

That building is amazing but the interior and the shite they have in there is all over the place. It needs huge investment in a proper plan but has never had that and to my knowledge as always run at a loss. It’s epically uncool. Is Ashley the boy to save it?

Will this not simply become a brand-name attached to Chinese firetrap-sweatshop schmutter + a series of £8-figure “townhouses”?

With him at the helm I imagine the brand will continue this strong tradition.

from the Wiki page, it appears the slide towards Ashley level started over 100 years ago:

" * 1920s - becomes the first Savile Row tailor to make and (secretly) sell ready-to-wear suits."

Bought a winter coat from here https://frahmjacket.com/

Very impressed with the quality and styling. Trying not to buy their entire range as they’re a bit spendy.

First wear of a Richard Anderson (suit) jacket today.
Picked up new at a silly price, but nice to have something canvassed for a change.
I rarely wear suits at work now as the trousers take a kicking and the jackets aren’t always needed.

Off the peg, but it’s a nice thing.

Yes a bit spendy but :ok_hand:

Yes, the military parka is :ok_hand: Not sure if I would go for the camo though. I’ve got the Ventile field jacket in green and I love it.

Have you got a scooter :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Looks like the sort of thing Jason from the Sleafords would wear (and that’s a good thing).

Although IRL he’s Hawkwood Mercantile guy. A company whose business model totally bewilders me.

It is 14 point something in my living room.

I am wearing a woollen blanket with a hole cut in the middle of it. Over two other layers, obviously.

Fuk you Vlad.

Magee 1866 designer lounge blanket?

Or The Good The Bad And the Ugly poncho?

It’s almost tiffin time, and an iced drink isn’t much fun at 15c so we’ll have the heating on for an hour from around 6.

We don’t usually seem to need it after eating but may go nuts and stick it on for another hour maybe 8.30.
