Mince Pies & Other Metaphysical Musings -> 2019

The wife has just made these with the first of our home made mincemeat. Tasting notes to follow once one has actually been eaten

Posting all over social media doesn’t happen by itself.

(They look fab btw)

I’m too full post supper to actually eat one, but I’ve had a little nibble of one the Wench had, and the shortness of the pastry is incredible. The Mincemeat tastes pretty good too. Clag registered in negative figures.

I know people who could help you there. Modern courier services are very efficient and there are still three whole days before Xmas.

If you go into this commercially you need a name that makes it clear that your pastry is the shortest of all. I suggest you call your pie company “The Mincing Midget”.

Made a batch today.

These are the best I’m likely gonna get this year. Epic pastry, I’ve stated folding my pastry as you would with puff pastry. A unanimous image
From me :grinning:

Me too. Lou brought two apple turnovers home from the shop the other day.

I ate them both

It’s still short but folding before chilling gives it a bit of lift and separation while baking :+1:

Hmm, this is not a good batch. :disappointed_relieved:

Shame. You didn’t grab the Branston pickle jar by mistake ?

At least 9 of them look unfinished. You should’ve said you wanted pies.

Is it on a diet?

Had a bash earlier, some leakage issues.
