deep fried mince pie?

By Jove!!

Mince pie bhaji. Excellent. Not.

I’m in agreement, I’m not seeing how adding a shed load of extra fat to something already quite fatty is going to improve it at all.

I am sensing that @Ruprecht may have some unpleasant gifs for this statement…

Next batch going in tonight with an extra 25g of sugar in the pastry. A little sweeter was the wife’s shout.

Via Special Delivery they could still make it - Well done John !

Far too delicate for that service.

I’ll be happy to have a couple left, once the kids teachers have been catered for.

There is some mince left for a post Christmas batch. All being well I’ll have ready for the record fair

Yes! Thank you.

Today I made some mince pies. It’s the first time in my life I’ve made them. It was a real effort, I have been really ill, but I’d promised the kids I’d make us all some.

Wife took them all to a friend’s and left them there.

I think they were quite good, but I only got to eat half. There was no clag.

I think I might go a bit mental…

I just did a passive aggressive sad walk away back to my sick bed. There may have been some “Oh” comments as well.

Hope you’re feeling better soon Adam.

Todays pie was from Morrisons, not the crappy boxed ones, but the baked instore type.

The filling was nice, not too sweet. Controversially it was boozy, but not overly so, and I liked it.

Unforgivably, the pastry case was virtually unbaked at the bottom, and collapsed as soon as it came out of its foil.

I might try baking the rest of them for 5 minutes, because this pie had potential.
