Bulliet Rye is a fairly solid entree point into rye &_quite attractively priced. I don’t have a bottle on t’ go at present, but do have an unopened bottle in.

WT 101 is one of my fave American whiskeys full stop (admittedly WT Rare Breed is better still, but at a pretty significant price increase). It does have a reasonably forward rye bias & does I think stack up well against a decent rye.

A general difference between rye & bourbon is that rye’s tend to have a quite pleasant earthyness to the balance & are a touch less drug store medicinal flavour wise.

I pretty much hold Woodford Reserve Rye in equal regard to WT 101. I think it absolutely superb & IMV far far superior to their Bourbon.

Sazarac & Rittenhouse are another couple of decent rye whiskies that can be had for sub £40 & more like £35 when on offer.

A slightly sore point is that my local Asda no longer carries the Woodford rye, as several years back they would regularly have it on offer fer £25 which wuz a pretty stellar bargain.

My uncle Fred in Cheltenham (I had two uncle Freds) said that they had the Wurzels in for their gas board Christmas do.

Apparently they had a (real) chicken at the front of the stage that just stood staring at the crowd for the entire time, occasionally taking a couple of steps to the left or the right.

The last dram o’ this 'un (early snap obv’s)

This wuz quite remarkable vfm at
£32-95 fer a single cask, cask strength 9yr old Highland single malt of known distillery provenance.Wish I’d snapped up a coupla more bottles, it quickly sold out in a single day last Autumn.

:tumbler_glass:

Very decent 10yr age statement, cask strength & assertively sherried Speyside single malt. Unnatributed distillery, but strong chance from a little research that its a Craigellachie.

Got a few bargain buys on this from last year, sometimes as little as £35 a bottle. Decent vfm at full rrp of £50 IMV.
