....more armchair politics (Part 1)

It doesnt help that our education system practically ignores economics and politics, and our media is shite.

True dat.

Makes you smile on a Sunday morning read:

‘…France is sometimes described as a paradise populated by people who think they’re living in hell, which is to say the opposite of Surrey. …’

Yet again the tories had less votes than the other parties combined but that’s converted into a big majority - again. FPTP is a complete fix

No party in power is ever going to change FPTP.
The Tories will never give away power.

Heard Michael Gove this morning trying to suggest that the SNP didn’t have a mandate to hold another indyref as the majority of voters didn’t vote for parties wanting one. Funny how FPTP is fine until it isn’t.

BBC. A disastrous night for Labour

It wasn’t great

The Conservatives gained control of 13 councils, giving them 63 in total. There are now 2,346 Tory councillors across England – an increase of 236.

Labour lost control of eight councils, leaving them with 44 in total. The party now has 1,344 councillors – a fall of 327.

Hats off to the Greens for an amazing effort in Bristol.

By that logic, there was no mandate for Brexit

The same twisted logic that suggests the time is not right (during a pandemic) for a referendum yet was fine for Brexit to be pushed through its final stages.

By that logic there us a definite mandate for brexit, a majority of voters voted for it.

But in the following GE they didn’t

What has that got to do with it?
There is no arguing there was a mandate for Brexit it was a straightforward yes/no vote how can you argue with that?

Because that was what Gove was arguing you dozy cunt!

It is going to be hard to deny Indy Ref 2
The Tories will use any argument to deny it, Gove is an odious cunt but he is going to use any statistic to support his position
