I have to wonder whether the outcome envisaged by Trump for a mineral deal and US people in place in Ukraine overseeing the work has been put to Putin. I imagine Putin would want to hold on to the land they’ve taken and much of that is where the valuable stuff lies. Does still look like a stitch up & general thievery.

I was thinking about this the other day. Realistically, even if we rejoined the EU tomorrow, we’d still have to deal with the USA. And the best way to get try and steer Trump as far as I can see is be sycophantic as possible. The challenge is, you cannot ever say you didn’t mean it (at least not until he’s out of office), because it will get back to him and fuck up future negotiations, and then you look like a brown-nosing little shit to almost your entire populace. Not an easy balancing act.

I get the feeling anything positive that comes from Streeting’s time as Health Secretary will be a full monkeys and typewriters situation.
Yes, I think he’s a clueless smirk too, but sweeping away overpaid talking shops, which by the way have been talking about the same thing since STPs which was nearly 10 years ago, is long overdue.
Placing the NHS under direct ministerial control however is a complete recipe for disaster.
