My preferred councillor won by 7 votes from an unknown Reform candidate, thank heavens at 21.00hrs I managed to prise my backside from the chair, as did 6 others and vote.
I think we’re fucked.
I am on holiday in Turkey.
8 people in our group.
Only 2 voted.
Forgot, don’t know how to do postal vote and cba were the reasons the other 6 gave.
I’m assuming you were suitably castigating in your response to those excuses?
I gave them withering looks ![]()
On average, I suspect 6 out of 8 golfers not voting would be bad for Reform.
I got to the polling station around 6:30 yesterday evening , there was nobody else there when I arrived , by the time I took my rucksack off , motorcycle helmet off , found my wallet with driving licence in , voted and left . Still nobody else came in.
One thing my dad instilled in me was that if you don’t vote you can’t complain. I just wish there was a box for “ none of you corrupt cunts though “
Berated myself for not voting at about 9pm last night until Ali reminded me there were no council elections in our area ![]()
turning up at the sports centre like

If you think I would go on holiday with 6 Reform voters you are mistaken,
I don’t think you have much idea of what an ‘average’ golfer is either.
I’m saddened to see Reform
Drawing equal 2nd in Scotland. It’s hard to imagine how wrong things have gone, when Scotland, a traditionally progressive and socialist country, throws a massive wedge of its votes into reform.
We are doomed
Reform now have 18% of UK councillors, run 14 councils and will have nothing to do with the the government’s of either Wales or a Scotland. Meh.
Let’s hope they disappoint magnificently.
I’ve done the audits of a couple of golf clubs before now so have read my fair share of committee minutes.
I see Lambeth still isn’t called. Wagwan? As they say in Brixton.
Yes, but 2nd to 5th only has 5 seats difference top to bottom. And only 13% of the seats so not exactly a powerhouse. And mostly as a result of the PR element understand.
SNP 58
LAB 17
REF 17
SGR 15
CON 12
LD 10
Partial results in and looks like most of Labour loses so far have gone to green. But only 27 of 63 declared. Green 14, Lab 9 and Lib Dem 4
Haha.
Golf committee members really aren’t representative of the playing membership,
I don’t think you have much idea of what an ‘average’ golfer is like.
Let’s just say there weren’t many save the whales stickers in the car park.
Correction required due to misread, not 18%, just 3.8% of councillors.
