If Burnham didn’t have his tenure in Manchester then his detractors would switch to ‘he has no track record’, and they’d probably conveniently omit his time as Health Secretary too while they were busy raking for reds in the bed type smears etc.
I’m not a Burnham fan-boi, I just don’t rate the other fighters that are being pitched against Farage and his undead army of outraged morons and disaffected idiots who are seeing their racism being validated and stoked up.
And any case Burnham has a few tricky obstacles to overcome first to see what he’s really capable of.

Someone asked me about them a few weeks ago at a dinner party.

Not his deluded supporters care, but he has got himself quickly in a mess over his finances and offering three very different and contradictory explanations of what the £5m was for and where his latest property was funded from.
He seems to be Teflon coated.
Brexit was a disaster, but nothing to do with him, he is a man of the people, likes a cig and a pint but is also a multi millionaire.
… and hangs around with the POTUS and with expat crypto mates and is constantly on the BBC, much like most of us I guess . At least he never goes near Clacton.
