....more armchair politics (Part 2)

And Palestinian

The problem is that your average Reform voter is going to think the first part is a fantastic idea, and is completely unaware of how fucked they are going to end up in part 2

My neighbour is in hospital so I am the ‘lucky’ recipient of his daily Times. It’s not often I agree with Melanie Phillips but this article highlights the racist bollocks that is Restore according to whom I am not British.

Me neither :+1:

The “Restore is the fault of Muslims” bit at the end of that article is a pretty horrific take.

I am very confused. But not half as confused as Restore
According to Restore I am not British as my mother was born in Eire.
She was an immigrant to the UK.
But under the 1948 Nationality Act she held a British passport.
So I am the son of two British citizens, hold a British passport (as did both my parents) but am not British.
On the other hand I am white so none of this nonsense applies to me!

(We didn’t mean you!)

Agreed. I think she has completely missed the fact that it is the right wing press, of which she is a fully paid up member, that has incessantly stirred up resentment of the tiny percentage of Muslim immigration that has not adapted to Britain.

Restore would fix that contradiction easily - by taking your passport away (xcpt not u bcs ur white etc).

Me neither!

Don’t forget Chuck 3. His dad’s Greek.

This is why some of us feel unwelcome!

It would be nice to see them putting up flags and wearing T-shirts with
Cheddar man on it seeing as he’s the oldest known Britton - Something they could be proud of and champion because he is of superior, sacred stock.

During an interview with the Associated Press ahead of the Clacton by-election, Count Binface was asked about his political position and where exactly he sits between left and right.

The Count’s answer, that he actually sits at the galactic centre of politics and everything else revolves around him.

The interviewer then asked him if he could put that into US political terms, so Count Binface did just that – by saying the same thing again in an American accent.

Polls closed at Clacton by-election: “No one I’ve spoken to in recent days – whether in Clacton or in Westminster – believes anyone other than Nigel Farage will win tonight.” :grimacing:

The reporter is one ‘Harry Farley’, someone not averse to a bit of elaboration on occasion.
