It’s a nice idea and I was surprised to learn that enough tree planting might actually buy us really significant time to find a solution to the climate problem. This work came out just a few months ago https://science.sciencemag.org/content/365/6448/76 (group led by a British guy working at a top place in Switzerland). His plan, however, would be fully effective not with a million trees but with half a trillion (yup, 500,000 times as many !). Sadly the room for most of them is not here but in the tropics, where Mr J Bolsonaro* et al are encouraging them to be burnt down, not replanted
