This was on the Yarmouth ferry today.
And while wandering through Lyndhurst so KettleJnr1 could stick a nose on the window of the Ferrari dealership¹ there was a shop selling these.
¹the nicest thing in there was a Dino 246 which isn’t actually for sale.
Yeah, that isn’t happening.
Looks a bit like the product-placement Audi in I Robot
Minecraft has taken over styling and design at every single OEM automotive brand.
Same guy as the recent Jag, allegedly.
He seems to think the CAD polylines are where design stops.
Only 499 being made so not really a replacement as it’s very limited. Apparently it’s just a Lamborghini temerario underneath. 1001 horsepower and £500,000
Awesome, but quite a wedge being asked.
Firenzas are a guilty pleasure of mine - deeply uncool - and that’s sweet-as-a-nut. Price is - o/c - beyond optimistic and doing comic backflips upon the purple plains of insanity. You do not get your £$£$£$£ back on a hotrod.
Vauxhall had a brief period of very sharp looking design in the early 70’s obviously borrowing from some US models.
My Dad seemed to like the Vauxhalls as company cars and had a run of Cresta’s & Victors from the mid 60’s til mid 70’s although usually estates later on. Then changed jobs & it was Granadas.
The Firenza and Victor FD were, and still are, good looking cars.
So my* first milkfloat is actually a Chinese pickup truck called a ‘Maxus eTerron 9’ - from the same people responsible for those middle-aisle transportation podules cherished by defeated pensioners and loathesomely-branded ‘MG’.
This thing thinks it’s a pimped-out hyperdrive SUV so it goes like a stabbed rat - due to ~440bhp + 4WD, and it handles like a deranged walrus on meth - due in no small part to the fact it weighs 2,880Kg and all that mass almost always wants to go somewhere that you do not.
It is fuckhuge - it dwarfs the Hilux - and absolutely everything is operated by an electric motor. There is cream leather, xmas-cracker-tier goldy-looking trim, and also shiny chrome trim, matt brown bits, satin black bits, bits of terracotta leather, a bastard great big low-res screen on which is everything you need but will never find or see, a really horrid rear-view ‘mirror’ that’s actually a small screen with the resolution of a 1990s Nokia, a stupidly massive shelf with a small, useless, satin-finished lever lost in the middle of it, a ‘frunk’ which is as useful as the word is hateful, a sun-and-moon-and-stars roof that doeasn’t open, and still there’s a near-endless list of egregious Aldi-tier strapons to make it more attractive to Americans - who are not allowed to buy it…
If you drive unlike a cunt, on flat, smooth roads, it will probably do what it does for all of its claimed 260 mile range - while constantly beeping and bleating like a poundshop sex-robot stuck on ‘premenstrual mode’.
You can vary the ride height considerably, owing to it having air suspension all-round, and it has multiple quite advanced offroad modes, including the equivalent of fully locked transmission differentials - all of which would be just great if it wasn’t delivered on the sort of tyres whose tread-pattern would suit a Bentley…
All that said, you can turn off some of the annoying stuff, and you can also drop the ride height and firm the suspension to the point it actually resembles a car, rather than a helium-filled armoured personnel carrier, and I sort of grudgingly quite like it, despite the very fucking silly name.
Sam has it on loan to review for work. It costs £54,000, and will be worth 50p this time next year. I know the Ways of Farmings and not a single one of them should ever be allowed anywhere near one of these.

Oh so that’s what it is, one of them almost wiped me out yesterday. They are huge! I thought the last thing I was going to see was ‘MAXUS’
It’s a loaner? ![]()
Drive it like you stole it, plenty of farmers tracks around so you can rag its arse of road too.
Being electric, even the enviromentalist hiker types will be lost for words.
Please elaborate
What is the EV equivalent of red diesel fraud?
