£300 Oak box version
Yeah, even I managed to swerve that
Nowhere near as bad as Shpongle. They are total grifters.
Iron law of record purchase: if they say it’s collectable; it isn’t.
Gryphon, who sail on the medieval side of prog, have a new live double album out in August. Here they are live at the Union Chapel a few years ago (it’s 96 min long, but not all one track ):
That is how they drag you in, promises promises.
Unsurprisingly, I love Gryphon

Digital only AFAIK.
Does anybody know what / when the new Hawksmoor will be?
Radio 6 played something very spacy around 8.50 last night then said “mutter mutter Hawksmoor October”.
Google isn’t helpful.
FWIW, first item returned by DuckDuckGo for “Hawksmoor new album october”
You can find the playlist on the sounds app usually. Under the slot for that segment.
Hit the station. Hit yesterday. Scroll to the slot and hey presto:
Think you have sorted the actual q about the album, above.
Pre-ordered these two on vinyl:
Fontaines DC - Romance, should arrive tomorrow.
Amyl and the Sniffers - Cartoon Darkness, not released until Oct 25th.
X.
FDC arrived today.
I’ve liked them from the start. Initial listening is I need to listen more
I read that the new Gillian Welch is very good, not listened to it yet.
Also a Moon and the Melodies high res remaster.
Might be flexing my Qobuz Sublime thingy later.
Go that on order. first album of original material for a long time, the last album (The Good Times Have Come And Gone) was all covers.
Although the line between a Gillian Welch album, a Dave Rawlings album. and a Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings album is all pretty hazy as they both play on all of them.
Yes got those. The Gillian Welch is a ridiculous 24/192 - I think the label knows its audience.
Also a back catalogue Jane Weaver in the sale and the new Hawksmoor pre-ordered for a magnificent £6.50. When it works, the Qobuz Sublime thing works well.
Really enjoyed her gig a few months ago, got a couple of vinyl albums signed, she was lovely.
