Rather rudely my previous request was culled by robomod
So trying again, we have moved our kitchen so the old kitchen (16 foot x 10 foot 3 with 9 foot ceiling and will have one of the long walls mostly (9 foot or so) done in glass/french doors
it’s next door (shared wall) to an Airbnb our neighbours run so can’t be full on loud and bass heavy
My plan is to maximise seating so the Hifi can go on the 10 foot wall that has a door in the first 3 foot so broadly 7foot to cram something in
Thinking oak sideboard with floor standers or stand mount either side and cos I like orange maybe a squad system (there will be a telly on the wall above it by order if the management)
Any suggestions, don’t want records as will keep my upstairs system for that so integrated that is simple to use, remote and integrated well with telly and still easily does audio is the thinking
It’s a flat they keep and mostly use themselves, they rent it out a bit to assist with costs so it’s not much used
Our walls are thick and planning to use blue plasterboard to further insulate for sound when we plaster the walls so don’t need to be quiet but big sub woofers wouldn’t be ideal
I’ve spent way too many hours recently looking at setups that have that kind of scale, due to wanting to ‘fit’ horns into my average living room.
Ended up with an Altec 614 cabinet, 2 way.
You could comfortably accommodate these, or move up to bigger cabs for more bass/dynamics.
Here’s a few references I’ve picked up, more than happy to assist with a simple 3D model of your room. Others here better placed to advise on speaker/acoustics etc. Obviously I’m recommending DIY/commissioning.
To work near the rear wall and corner, NS1000M (or the lovely Ebony NS1000) might be worth a go, or Marshall Chong CM2 (bit harder to find).
Klipsch Hersey work in that postion but sound pretty shit overall IME.
