Maybe one of the naim all in ones
Good call. I have heard them sound good in small rooms against walls.
Pushing it size-wise, but very nice…
Indeed they look the dogs but wouldn’t be much of a gap between them
suppose I could wall mount speakers, hang some quads from the ceiling perhapd
My Tannoy Monitor Gold IIILZ fit in nicely; they sit right out of the way in the corners. They seem to be happy in this position.
They’re not quite as far back as possible as neighbours might complain about late night listening sessions!
Fuck 'em
That’s the thing to do with second systems. There’s no point just having a worse version of your main system, you should have something that is interestingly different.
I really enjoyed having Quads as a second system, it was lovely for Sunday morning chamber music.
Think about how you want to use the room, what kind of music and vibe you would want in there, and choose speakers with that in mind.
This one will fit in the space though
They’ve been pushed back as far as possible. It is fucking naughty now…
Paragon would be lovely but bit on the pricy side
I am swayed by a low volume listening does voices and folk well and use the upstairs for anything more umphy
Perhaps an audio innovations and snell js
Or quad panels with a nice integrated
Quad panels need to be Waaaaaayy into the room
Not them then, Yamahas sound promising
Did wonder about meh
I mean, that sounds like the sort of thing Harbeths are made for…
=/=
Or interestingly anything…
Yeah do some meh, why wouldn’t you?
Sure, but it’s @Turningjapanese asking, not @AmDismal…
I just like the segue from “something that can do small scale and voice” to “why not these meh that can go to 126dB?”
It’s a fair point, would be different than my upstairs Hifi was my thought but looking at cost I might need to go classic Hifi
one notion is a naim shoebox system, my first posh Hifi was a 72 140 combo so could combine that with some heybrook speakers and the reel to reel and hide a streamer away somewhere for the retro look
the quad retro stuff looks tempting too
Like your b&o idea too stu - fun shopping but will they be a liability to keep running?
