been working on the room so the floors out, all walls are stripped and first fix electrics in place - still not sure what to do with it. Amy wants a telly but anything else is fair game - been toying with selling off the thomas mayer and JBL gear (takes up a lot of room) and buying some smaller hifi to fit on the 7 foot wall firing across the 16 feet to a sofa the other end - that said I am struggling to sell the gear I spent years collecting so defo in two minds
Camper van chic
Hahah quite, need to dig out come old Imhoff catalogues
New plan is to put me on a chair in the shorter half and use the 10foot end for tv and speakers

So recommendations for a nice pair of shelf mounts that will do telly and Hifi plus an all in one that also is modern enough to combine telly and Hifi like quad vena I guess or similar
Quad3 has a HDMI ARC input for the TV and was great with the Neat Petites.
They’re rear ported so probably won’t be great in a shelf space, something like Triangles which are generally front port should work though.
I was always tempted by the Alchris TX1 or TX1
If actually on a bookshelf up against a wall, what about specific wall mount speakers, like the ATC HTS7?
If older, stuff like the KEF Reference 102 and RDM1 work really well in that position, or the rare Marshall Choong CM1.
Not heard them but see the Neat Iota and Proac Tablette 10 come up often as recommendations fof that kind of position.
Kii 3 also worth a look - expressly need to be about 10cm from the rear wall.

A lot to pay for a very ‘hifi’ sound
Yep budget is a lot lower than £15k![]()

Kef 102 looks interesting and closer to budget
Sorry, got the model numbers mixed up - I had meant the Kii Sevens, although they are still a fair wedge (£8k for a pair).
My thinking is don’t spend much as the upstairs system is the Hifi, this needs to be fun and neighbour friendly whilst looking cool
Kef102 on the bookshelf
Beosystem 9000 or shigaclone cd
streamer of some kind or/and a nice retro tuner like the Sansui 717 I have already
Maybe have my teac reel to reel down there too
Technics SA-C600 all-in-one for Amp / CD / Streaming duties. Also sports a decent mm phono.
Well nearly got the doors on so time to dry run what a set up might look/sound like
Cd and pioneer sa9800 lashed together with some old wharfdale 9 s and a spare bedroom dressing table for now
Windows starting to look good, decided the room is going to be challenging for Hifi
so a style over substance rig is my thinking
Just got to decide between a longer sideboard with speakers on top or this size and thin floorstanders
