Is it a HP Laptop ?

Ok I’ve found the email thread from 2013.

Spec wise it’s perfectly serviceable for general PC use, music etc, even after 7 years. It’s an i3 in a nice quiet case with a decent Zalman quiet PSU and the like. It’s worth fixing, especially if it’s just the PSU.

Pish. Saffron would like a bespoke tweed country girl hound hunting outfit first :slightly_smiling_face:

This is good, I have to save my pennies for lacrosse sticks and horses.

What next?

Check the cable, obviously. Change it over or check the fuse

I’ve checked the cable, working fine. :+1:

Do any lights come on at all when you turn it on?

None, completely dead.

Tis’ fucked.

Well arguably the simplest approach is to buy a new PSU, fit it and see if that fixes it. It’s not hard, really.

This is probable fine:

You just open the PC, see what it’s currently plugged into (mobo, drives) and replace. It should be a ten minute job.

This is probably easier than trying to diagnose the issue. Especially for me.

Is the switch turned on at the back?

Did it on my old desk top. Piece of piss, even for me :+1:

I could drop by and do the PSU replacement.

At least the resultant death toll might give the papers something other than CV-19 to write about.

OK I bought the PS. :+1:

Thanks! I might be able to do it but if I get in trouble…

Just hope PS doesn’t stand for Pointless Spending!
