No fault claim increases your premium wtf

I remember my Dad complaining that as he was getting older his premiums were going up.
“I am 85” he said “I drive carefully not speed about the place like these idiot 18 year olds”

My answer
“Yebut, 18 year olds aren’t doddery old cunts who drive the wrong way down motorways or down slips into the sea because 'their satnav told therm to”

Didn’t go down too well

Although I remember being 55 and ringing round to get quotes for him with me as a named driver.
Saga taking all my details and then mentioning that I was now elibgible for their cover on my own policy didn’t go down very well with me either! :grinning:

So my renewal didn’t go through :frowning: received this from esure

Ran a new quote for them and it was £520 for exactly the same policy

Went with Aviva in the end for £280 but that’s still an 11% increase where I’ve had no points/claims and another year of NCB

Cunts

When you read that story it is apparent that those who shop around get a better deal and those who don’t get ripped off. Id love to know how much profit the brokers and the actual insurers are making and compare that to a couple of years ago. Another piss poor report by the BBC.

Apparently the price also fluctuates depending on how soon you want the policy to start. Robbing bastards.

It seems that they’re not all taking the piss, or at least not in my case. Just got my renewal email from Swinton and they have increased my annual premium by a whopping £4.12

It may well be moot though, I’m going down to my Dad’s later this month and there’s a good chance I’ll be changing my car so I’ll wait and see what I get quoted for the new motor - when I’ll be wanting the new cover to start on the same day…
