Obviously I’m getting my news second-hand and in Flemish
Used to love the Smiths, but Morrissey has become such a cunt that I couldn’t contemplate going to see a reunion.
I mean, WTF happened? The polar opposite of a ‘Road to Damascus’ moment?
What a wanker.
I can’t even be arsed to stay disappointed.
While Edinburgh was left littered with feather boas after Harry Styles, and cheap cowboy hats after Beyoncé, I suspect we’ll see crap sunglasses and bucket hats cast far and wide across the city after oasis!
I’m so f bored of hearing about O…
Just checked the prices for the Damont pressing.
Daughter will be pleased, hopefully in the distance.
X.
Liked them when i saw them a couple of times in the 90s when they were relevant. Can’t say I’ll be doing a reunion testimonial, never done one yet.
Charlatans were better mind.
Struggling to think of anyone I’d pay £100 to see.
Probably Radiohead, but only if it was in a smallish venue.
Well its not looking go for me in getting tickets, i didn’t get a code for the pre-booking today. FFS.
I tried and couldn’t get tickets for Coldplay playing this weekend in Dublin now oasis…fffffs
As were Inspiral Carpets.
Agreed.
IIIIIIII can’t feel you mooooove…
I am amazed we agree on something. Pulp were the most bestest though.
Pulp - so much better than Oasis that there isn’t even a debate to be had.
A band with something interesting to say.
IMHO etc etc.
But I’m right, so am upgrading my opinion to fact.
C5 are showing a 2001 Oasis gig at Barrowlands.
It’s not amazing and I doubt they’ve improved with age.
One great album, one reasonable album and lots of subsequent dog shit.
And two obnoxious cunts.
Thinking back to Brit Pop C94 and the Oasis / Blur orchestrated hype war, it’s interesting to look at the trajectory of these bands since. Oasis as a band, and in turn the brothers solo efforts, sound remarkably similar. There is talent there but it stays rather mono rarely deviating from their ‘lane’. For the most part what they had in spades was an attitude that resonated with numb nosed ‘Lads’ on the terraces. Blur on the other hand consistently strove for something new. Albarn in particular stretched out artistically in multiple directions (and continues to do so). I don’t own any of either bands records - curious what other people here think of their artistic trajectory looking back.
Artistic trajectory looking back:
Oasis - 1 album (Definitely Maybe)
Blur - 1 single (There’s No Other Way)
Sum total.
Ticketmaster site already crashed by hoards of people desperate to re-live their youths while propping up the Gallaghers’ pension pots and getting drenched in pints of other people’s piss
