This is very sad news for you & tragic for her family. Condolences.

I’m irritated daily by people calling for restrictions to be relaxed more quickly because everyone who might have been vulnerable has had a jab now & what are we waiting for. The virus is still out there, can catch anyone and will in all likelihood mutate multiple times possibly in ways that we may not yet be protected from.

That is dreadful news Dan.
So sorry to her about your Dad.
Your neighbours family must be in an awful place, those poor girls, to lose their Mum so early.

So true Covid’s not over.

Sorry to read such terrible news as this but thank you for sharing as it does reinforce the need to stay safe.

Sorry to hear about your Dad passing away Dan - condolences to you and yours.

Terrible news about your friend Laura such a horrendous thing for a young family to have to go through.

Cheers guys

Very nicely done. My condolences for your losses.

Bravely written Dan. It brings home the reality of so many personal, individual tragedies rather than abstract statistics. Sorry for your loss.

I’m really very sorry to hear that you’re going through such tough times Dan. Hang in there and take good care of yourself.

So sorry to read this, Dan.

I’m so sorry to hear of your tragic news Dan, thoughts are with you and the family of Laura.

Not somebody particularly well known but an artist that me and FoL were very fond of for his garage rockabilly style, and one we had many good times listening to his music together.

That is as they say, no fucking age to go :cry:

It seems that car designer Robert Opron died on March 29th. He is responsible for some of my very favourite cars including;

The ‘Four light’ facelift on the Citroen DS;

The SM;

The Alpine A310 V6 rework from the original 4cyl model (where he worked with a very young Peter Stevens);

And then, having been told to let his hair down a bit, the Alfa SZ;

Bonne chance Monsieur Opron.

I couldn’t give a good goddamn about their technical shortcomings, the SM and SZ are two of the finest looking cars ever devised. RIP msr Opron.

The Alpine has copied the Firenza droop-snoot’s front end :face_with_monocle:

:roll_eyes: Vauxhall copied Alpine, which in turn had been inspired by the late-60s NASCAR homologation “aero cars” -

…which iirc copied mods made by private individuals to cars they ran at the Bonneville speed trials.

No shit Sherlock ! Thanks for that nugget.
