Cozy Powell. Drummer.
Died 23 years ago. Dave, youâre as late as he is.
Perhaps he rose on Sunday and died again.
Sorry, Pete French posted on Facebook as a reminder.
Keep meaning to watch Friday night dinner as everyone says itâs hilarious, will make an effort nowâŚ
We loved it, and Paul Ritter was brilliant in it. Quite a range as an actor also with the other stuff he did. Very sad.
He was excellent in The Audiance as John Major opposite Helen Mirrenâs Queen Elizabeth âŚ
Shit on it!
Despicable as Dyatlov in Chernobyl too. Very talented and a sad loss.
Prince Philip
Decent innings for old Phil. To get to 99 with most of your marbles intact is no mean feat.
EDIT: M-i-L has rung from Melbourne for an emergency natter over the news.
This news saddens me greatly, I really liked and in many ways admired Prince Philip, thoughts are especially with The Queen at this very sad time and of course his family. I doubt his like will be seen again unfortunately. RIP
He might have said a few unacceptable things (which tend to get hugely disproportionate coverage), but I admired him for his loyalty and genuineness.
Like him or not, he wasnât putting on a show.
Iâm not sure the Queen would be the model of humility she is, without the private support he must have given her.
This line from the BBC news made me stop and think.
I had never considered this.
âHis four older sisters would all marry Germans. While Philip fought for Britain in the Royal Navy, three of his sisters actively supported the Nazi cause; none would be invited to his wedding.â
Fascinating life. Lots of stuff I wasnât aware of.
Good innings that, no letter from the Queen though.
Opportunity for Her Maj to abdicate with some dignity intact
Give Chas his turn and hope he doesnât f#ck it all up too much
Funeral should be âinterestingâ given recent Harry Megangate fiasco
The funeral should be a small & private affair. Like everyone elseâs during covid.
No more than six carriages in attendance
As of Monday the limit will go up to 30. Will they really wait until June 21st though (his 100th birthday would have been June 10th) ?
Oddly there is precedent. Mary IIâs funeral was delayed from December to March, in part because of widespread illness in a dreadful winter Mary II of England - Wikipedia. It was suggested theyâd have struggled even to break the ground, although she was buried in a church of course.
