That’s very sad. I’ve only ever seen him on the telly but he came across so very well.

He lived near Spalding in his later years.

Gutted TBH - he was going to make some appearances on behalf of our local Labour group in the run-up to the election, too. He really was a grassroots guy :frowning:

He wrote that in the run up to the Villa v West Brom FA Cup quarter final a few years back and they played it on the big screens before the game - it was a fabulous motivator for a fiercely contested match that followed.

I suspect that when the Villa fans sing ‘Holte Enders in the sky’ on Saturday Benjamin will be warmest in their thoughts.

A couple of pals made a documentary about him and yes a real lovely fella

Was watching a nice 30 minute documentary about him at lunchtime. Still surprised he wasn’t a Baggies fan given his age & where Albion & Villa were as clubs in the 70’s.

Awful news, one of my favourite people to listen to and a great poet. Damn this has been a bad few weeks :disappointed_relieved:

Ryan O’Neal passed at 82 :frowning:

Essra Mohawk.

Wrote for the Shangri-Las, the Vanilla Fudge, Cyndi Lauper and Tina Turner, died in hospice care, aged 75.

She’d collaborated with Frank Zappa, Jerry Garcia, and many others.
