Mrs and the kids went out earlier so had a flick through to see what was on in Tokyo.
Landed on volleyball. Poland (world champions apparently) playing Iran. Who knew, as edge of seat as any sporting spectacle I’ve seen. The only reason I stopped was I noted it was 2 sets all going into the decider. Boom, they hit that serve at 130kmph and get it back! In the end there were a dozen or so match points, could have gone either way but the Iranians won out.
Volleyball was nothing like that last time I looked some decades back
Olympic skateboarding looks totally impossible, I remember being able to stand on one and travel along the road at a fair wack, but sliding along rails and stuff…
I’ve just realised that the Eurosport Olympics coverage is much broader than the BBC’s. The BBC has a fairly small subset of the sports that Eurosport (which has the main broadcast contract) has access to.
Beats me why the kick in the bollocks isn’t a tactic of choice? Presumably you wouldn’t get points for it but surely it would render the opponent helpless?
Sevens have been sensational this morning. England coming back after being 21-0 down and Argentina beating South Africa, despite being down to 6 men after a minute.
