Olympics Paris

Absolutely not :grinning:

It is a trip. Once you get the confidence to run hell for leather and jab your pole into the box (yes ) and get the knack of bending the fuck out of the pole before springing up and being basically flung in the air, then its quite a rush.

Successes vs failure ratio usually puts and end to your enthusiasm to keep doing it.

Just showed my wife how I used to do the discus and nearly took the tv out.

My events in the 5th year were, 100 & 200, shot put and discus.
The 100 & 200 I used to win (there were three of us in the school that were pretty evenly matched, I needed a good start as Luke especially was taller and once in his stride would close me down), shot put and discus I could get in the top three.

They wanted me to join the local club at the time, but I failed to understand the importance of what they were saying :man_facepalming::man_shrugging:.

Seems a VERY long time ago!

I started on rigid ally poles and was OK but then came fibreglass poles
It tales a lot of bottle to plant the pole and keep running
If you don’t and decelerate, the pole flexes then straightens and throws you back down the runway on your arse…
After three of those in a row I realised the pole vault was not for me!

Think indoor cycling is one my favourites at the olympics, with yachting being my worst

Fuck! I remember those. We’d have been better off starting a school punting team.

I commend anyone who has not tried a track back on a track, to try it.
It’s an experience. Fantastic fun.

No brakes and a fixed wheel… loads of fun until you forget to pedal.

not seen the 3x3 basketball before but this is brilliant.

Kayak cross has been my favourite so far.
I used to race slalom in K1 and C1 and C2 in my younger days an I was good at it. But they didn’t have kayak cross back then. I wish they had it looks like loads of fun.

Everyone starting together and being able to bash each other with paddles adds to the fun-
More exciting than timed individual runs down the course.
Everyone starting together should be extended to downhill skiing. :grinning:

Been doing so for a number of years. Dull on some courses, excellent on others. Couple of Brits on the fringes

Four abreast ski jumping?

Fair bit of that involved

Diving. Is it just me or is there a different scoring regime if your name ends in China?

Only caught the last few dives, British girl had a tough time by the sounds but ripped her last dive. Perfect in the air, rip entry 81 pts. Chinese way ahead but last dives, both not quite perfect in the air and slight miss on entry. Both 81 pts did rewind to check and degree of difficulty was the same

I’m convinced the commentators are just making up words for the skateboarding tricks.
