Problems like that can be a slightly damaged wire that’s fine until someone happens to walk or drive over it and cause a short. I had an electric barrier at Tonbridge rail station suffer from this. Each time myself, or someone else visited it worked fine. I knew it couldn’t be a main component fault as I’d replaced them and tested all the readings, yet it was still reported as faulty. In the end the tech spec’s had to come along and totally strip the gate down. It turned out to be a wire being crushed at a certain part of the walkway.

It might not be clear in the picture; there is a camber to the road and the grass bit is too high to climb onto with a bus; risk of grounding out and removing expensive bits of bodywork and underframe components like air reservoirs!

Wish I’d had time to get a camera out today between Watlington and Benson. Big artic carrying a huge load of hay - with a tree - full on tree sized branch across the top - foliage hanging off one side, branch big enough for BobC to make a decent table hanging out the other. Less than a mile up the road, carnage where he’d obvs got stuck.
Would have been interesting to see that try and negotiate Watlington 
Seems Bojo forgot the no bbq advice, bit further back up the road Police with guns stopping all traffic heading toward Chequers due to a pretty significant looking fire on the estate.

Various newspaper sites reporting a Korean Air plane clipped the tail of an IcelandAir one around 20:00. Loads of blue light activity but no reported injuries or fire. Live Departures wasn’t showing any delays or cancellations a few minutes ago.
Surely that broke down there?
