Personal hotspots

I would want a permanent internet connection, rather than having to fuck about for a few minutes to get it running, but then I live in civilisation and you live on Fetlar!

Unlimited data SIM is £28/mth

If I take out an additional SIM only deal on my contract I can get unlimited minutes and data for £23.

Question is, will I get improved speeds?

I barely use my mobile phone, just the odd call, WhatsApp and occasional browsing if I’m in the music room.

It’s one click on the MacBook. Takes no more than a second.

You could just have the phone permanently in hotspot mode I guess. Would work.

No.

That’s it then. Hotspot it is. :grinning:

Lol, as ever, no shortage of people trying to over-complicate stuff.

Just use it as a hotspot and you’ll figure out soon enough if you need something additional.

I’m sure we’ll *see on Thursday!

*or not

It will be fine and I’m sure better than your current carrier-pigeon based internet.

I think you should spend a hour doing speed tests at all places in your house to find the best reception.

They’re faster than Shetland Broadband.

Arse!

All logged with a Raspberry Pi.

Anyway, we all know how good Adam is at WiFi :rofl::rofl:

I’ll live with that.

Whilst the Pagans of Funzie may show initial concern, is it not possible to bolt a 5G beacon on the local totem pole?

Smarty unlimited £20 is what I use, with a tp link ac750 sim router.

They use the “Three” network don’t they?

That’s about as much use as tits on a bull here. It’s Vodafone or nothing really.

Well, that’s my epitaph sorted.

Fuck Vodafone, I’d go with nothing than use those cunts.
