the Hilux is indeed a tail-happy fucker unloaded, full tank helps, passengers help, stuff innaback helps… Be extra careful in the wet until you’re used to it, esp. if you’ve not driven RWD for a while!
If it’s on shitty, shitty Bridgestones (factory-fit, though obvs won’t still be on the original set…), then bin them ASAP, even if it’s only the rear pair you do, and get it on some Cooper Discoverer A/T3s or BF Goodrich whatevers (the Coopers are just as good but cheaper). The difference in handling &c is substantial to say the least.

I’ll get it on some Carlos Fandango ditchfinders as soon as.

I owned a 12 year old 1991 Hilux Surf, exactly like this one
for a couple of years.
I fucking loved that car (so did the kids), utterly utterly bomb proof and a hoot.
I owned an M5 at the same time. Both I and the kids preferred the Hilux.

The only trucks I have driven were rentals on the west coast of the US. Fitted right in.
Kibosh has just been applied. I went to Leeds to have a look and the chassis was a touch gash.
Decided to bail, so back to drawing board. May have to add a couple of k to get a younger model or even look at Isuzu D Max.
Boring myself now.
Do you need something so big for hand tools?
Youd be surprised just how much shit you need for jobbing gas work.
Hop up, steps, hoses, fittings. In fact the worry is not enough space !
Buckets, you forgot buckets.

Bags. I’m all about bsgs now. Waterproof bags, what a time to be alive.
Useful in winter as short term hand warmers, I’ll admit.
Irksome. I’ve heard nothing against later Ford Rangers (think it’s 2016MY onwards), and the 2019/20MY Mitsubishi L200 was much improved. I guess it depends on budget. VW Amaroks seem cheap now - VW pulled out of the market a few years back and it killed values, but have now returned. As with any car, there will be engines/gearboxes/years/models to avoid, so do your research.
Obviously run screaming away from Ssanyong and Great Wall…
Righto, another deal done on a 68 k Hilux this time.
See where this deal ends up going.

Just got some spam from Britannia leasing £299 personal lease on a Ford ranger ‘tremor’
18 months 5k miles pa and 12 upfront.
No idea if this is good or not.
Not my cup of tea but thought it might interest someone here as there seems to be a following.
Is it the one fromTop Gear?
