Anyway, tonight’s dinner is history now. Roll on supper time.

I can have a slice of the coffee cake I made this afternoon.

Never tried it, will now. It’s a big ask

Usually I just pan fry my haddock in butter with a touch of parsley and lemon. Fancied something different today so I made some beer batter. I’ll definitely do this again, the fish was fantastic. Crispy batter and no sogginess at all.

Sorry mate, you’ll have to tell me what that means

Can you buy fresh fish on the island?

Pierogies. Lots. Of. Pierogies.

No. I get mackerel (in season) given to me and as much fresh salmon as I can eat. All free.

The fishmongers are in Lerwick so I buy it there and freeze it.

Soft boiled burford brown eggs on fresh toast, and the knobby end of the loaf with marmite.

Was lush.

I never buy eggs so this was the first time I have had any in months - only had them because my mother forced me to take them as she had too many.:+1:

I like Burford Browns. Fortunately I can get them at Tesco for the time being, once the local hens start laying again I’ll be eating those, which are even better.
