Guys, have we learned nothing from salted caramel? There needs to be maple syrup and salt, not enough to be sweet or salty, just a perfect balance.

I’m willing to try many an odd combo, but pretty sure kippers and porridge is not going to work well together.

you should try Okayu Congee for breakfast, a Japanese rice porridge that I’ve had with smoked fish…not far off kipper and porridge!

Well, you could coat the kippers in the oats and fry them up, then drizzle with the Maple syrup. That might work?
