I’d like to try that too. I think there may be a Weber cold smoking accessory for the Smokey Mountain, I’ve been meaning to investigate.
Yeah, smoked mackerel pate in particular is a weakness of mine. Not with porridge though. That would be weird.
As an emetic.
I refer the honourable gentleman to my subsequent answer.
Nope, the mackerel didn’t really help ![]()
Smoked eel (NOT WITH PORRIDGE)
Really? That is based on a classic fish dish, maybe minus the syrup, but if you just use a few drops rather than soaking it, I reckon it would really work.
Fish coated in oats and fried appeals . . . its the “daring” addition of maple syrup I question. And remember, I fucking looooove maple syrup.
Savory with maple syrup? You’re looking at sausage, bacon, or gammon as a match
I like that you’re even considering it with fish
Open your mind to new possibilities, maple syrup and bacon works, why not fish? Especially smoked fish. Sweet smoked salmon is a thing after all.
I may be forced to try this out…
no no no, way too much sugar.
In the UK it is considered ungentlemanly to match gammon with maple syrup. Everyone knows that prime gammon is best accompanied by milk shake (preferably half finished and served under-arm at close range).
Stuff the kippers with ready brek then microwave for 2 minutes
and pineapple blurgh
BBQed pineapple with vintage Marmite glaze is delicious - salty, juicy, sweet thing
while you have a proper fry-up obviously.
that just plain silly. How about kippers wrapped in streaky bacon with a marmalade sauce
Jesus H. Christ. Salt in porridge? Maple syrup with bacon? Seriously, what the buggering fuck is wrong with some of you?
What’s next? Sugar on chips? Marmalade with sausages? Honestly, get a bloody grip.
Have you been on the sauce? Marmite and pineapple??? That is grotesque. Perhaps it might work with vegemite though…![]()
