His first game is on Thursday 2nd September and there is a game everyday up to the finals on Sunday 5th September. Which is the last day of the Paralympics.
I’ll post times when I know them.

My daughter has been worrying us recently. Throughout lockdown she stayed in her room and couldn’t be coaxed out for anything but food really.

We had emails from the school saying she had not been doing her coursework (very unusual for her), and generally not been herself at all.

Having not revised for her mock GCSEs we were very concerned and hoped the inevitable results would motivate her to action…

Apart from her maths exam, we need not have worried. She got nothing lower than an A, she had two A* and even managed an A** in English language. Her hopes of a medical degree at Imperial are still very much alive.

Also her revision plan has written itself
Monday Maths
Tuesday, Maths,

Etc.

Given the major re-wiring that goes on in teenagers’ brains it’s a bit of a surprise that they come out of the end of it still capable of walking upright and paying for things in shops (if they still have anything to do with shops, of course …). How they’ve coped with the covid social carnage heaven only knows. The school will have seen the general development thousands of times, so I guess their view counts for a lot, but they’ll be feeling their way through the current chaos too.

Humans are weird, there are days when I think the age people should be regarded as adults needs raising to 35, and then there are days when I read something like that and the immense personal responsibility young folk can show.

Full credit to your daughter, those are some serious results (way better than I ever did with my posh public school education).

No a proud parent moment but a proud partner moment.
After having an horrendous 18 months going through the menopause my partner Lynn is just getting ready for her first day at her new job. She really has been through it and it’s so so good to see her finally coming out the other side.

I had a Great Aunt Olive.
She was a £10.00 Pom in the 60s.
She went to Ballarat and I have no idea what happened to her.
