I know I shitpost all over this thread and they’re not even my kids, but honestly they do very well.
Niece #1 went back for her final year today - what the hell happened there?
She’s secured a position (unpaid I think) as a mentor for the new intake.
At the interview she was asked why she wanted the job. She answered that she’d had such a shitty first year, particularly the first term, that she wanted to help young women who might be facing similar difficulties.
At her age I was Beavis and Butthead made flesh. I’m quite boggled really.

Revelations for parents
While I’m here, this seems like quite a serious gig.
Two days training which mostly seems to be about “don’t say or do anything that could get turned on its head and used against you in court”. Also a heavy emphasis on social media.
All a bit grim that that’s what it’s like.
She’s now dead excited that she’s going to lead a group of freshers on some kind of caving madness

Fuck this fucked up life we now lead.
My neice, Laura, who went to London with the NHS to help during Covid, subsequently changed careers from admin to midwifery and is nearing the end of this phase of her training.
Turns out she is also a dab hand with watercolours and recently sent us this print of some of her highlights of London over the last few years. Am sure some of you will recognise them all, i didn’t.
The original sold for well over a grand, really chuffed for her.

Is it just the two of them (there’s no-one else in the pics 
although it does look like quite a well-trodden path) and where along the Andes are they ?
They’ve both taken 7 month sabbaticals from their respective jobs and are travelling through Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina & eventually ending up in Colombia. According to the plan anyhow. They first went to Trujillo on Peru’s Pacific coast where Dan spent a year volunteering while doing his degree. But they’ve now headed inland & South and are somewhere near Vaqueria.

Appreciate they need to be in a town or city with internet to edit and upload videos but I have vicariously enjoyed their travels, so hopefully there will be some content at some point.
