FoL now walking on air as she has been asked to start hockey training with the 2nd XI. She is probably more pleased about this than her exam results.
She will crash back down to earth next week when her A level studies commence.

Nephew #2 has won some sort of Australian Superbike (junior, obvs) thing that is littered with acronyms and I don’t understand.
I’m guessing that this kind of thing isn’t exactly cheap and maternal granddad, who has deep pockets and loves his boys, is probably footing some or all of the bill.
Also, it looks like nephew is having the traditional family growth spurt and has grown 6 inches in 6 months

For the resident bikers, I’ve now learned a bit more of the backstory.
He rides a 300cc bike.
I’ve seen a picture of it and it looks fcuking lethal.
Yes, the whole undertaking is muy spendy and he gets backing from several sources.
He’ll be 15 next January.
Niece #1 has taken up rugby and has her first match today 
She has zero clue about the rules but she is lighter and taller than the rest of the team so she immediately secured a spot as the one they hold in the air during line ups

So what do you call the player that they hoist into the air? Or is that not a fixed position?
I enjoy watching the 6 Nations etc. but I’ll readily admit that I don’t have much of a clue what’s actually going on.
It is not a fixed position but is generally one of the '‘Second Row’ also called a ‘Lock Forward’ (Called second row because they are the second row of the scrum)
Can also be one of the bigger back row, either the Blind Side Flanker or Number 8.
She is definitely not the Hooker - Who throws the ball into the line out,

So a good start for niece Sophie & her Charlton team. P5 W4 D1 and only one goal conceded so far. And that playing the sort of 3-4-2-1 system that Utd are failing (mostly) to get results from. With a fair wind they may be able to get promotion to the WSL if they keep it up.
She’s been nominated for player of the month so give her a vote!

Harben was very pleased to win Coach’s player of the year for Lisvane Cricket club under 11s. He was only 10 last week. It was his first season playing cricket and they made him captain too. That’s Henry Hurle who bats at no.3 for Glamorgan giving him the prize.
He’s also changed school and is now at Monmouth Haberdashers, which by sheer coincidence is where Henry Hurle went. Here he is playing QEH Bristol today (Monmouth won).

Sam starts work proper next week for his gap year before Keele uni next year.
He’ll be going full circle by helping deliver musical education to local schools, it’s where it all started for him!
Who knows, maybe he’ll inspire someone on their musical journey?

Nephew #2 continues to lay waste to all around him on the Oceania Junior MotoGP (or something) circuit and yesterday was awarded sponsorship for the 25/26 season from (what appears to be) a high performance bike brand.
I know bugger all about motorbikes but even I can appreciate that the sponsors emphasised that support was awarded not just for talent but also for behaviour on the track and in the pits.
What can I say? Ride like the wind, young man 
Although not right now - a few days ago he came off and someone rode over his foot so he’s currently sporting a moonboot
